Mudbugs — 33rd NOFF Selection

So excited to announce my film Mudbugs, co directed with Laura Hetzel, has been officially selected for the 33rd New Orleans Film Festival lineup! As a southern Louisiana native, and child of a crawfish farmer, I wanted to challenge myself as filmmaker to get intimate with a film and the subjects. This documentary is part of a larger art project that will follow the lives of crawfish farmers in Southern Louisiana. It’s a way for me to connect deeper with my family, culture, and region and allow others a glimpse into these lives through film.

With a run time of 10 minutes, Mudbugs explores the crawfish farming industry that is the heart of South Louisiana. It peaks into the lives of both the migrant and local farmers, that have dedicated their entire lives to the farm. A big part of crawfishing is the collaboration between southern natives and Mexican immigrant workers.

I’m incredibly excited to be showing my film in the city that made me the filmmaker I am today! And a huge thank you to my entire cast, crew, and to the Loyola Film community who made this happen!
